You might have heard through the grapevine that we’re upgrading our plugins to be GPU-accelerated. Well, it’s true. GPU Plugins will work in both Titler Pro and your GPU-compatible NLE.

What to Expect:

With GPU, things should go faster and smoother but is largely dependent on your system and configuration. We recommend updating your video card drivers first:

AMD/ATI

How much faster?
Well, speed is largely depending on your processor, the NLE, the plugin and the preset you use. That being said, it’s possible to see render and playback times up to 50 times faster than non-GPU plugins, and that’s something to get excited about.

When will GPU be available?
We’re looking to launch GPU plugins in the first quarter of 2012. Please make sure you are on our mailing list as we’ll announce availability via email.

Answer: There are a few things you should consider when purchasing and installing Titler Pro. First, we highly recommend that you updated your video card drivers. Depending on your video card, you can download the latest drivers from one of these sites:

NVIDIA For GeForce cards, the 2.90 beta seems to work very well. For mobile devices, you may also need the following steps:

• Open Control Panel -> Nvidia control panel.
• 3D Settings -> Manage 3D Settings - >Program Settings.
• Select your NLE(s) from the list (such as Vegas110.exe or Edius.EXE) from the list or add the programs using the browser.
• Choose option “High-performance NVIDIA processor”, if there is this option.

AMD/ATI Please use Catalyst version 11.10 or newer.

In addition please make sure your system and video card meets these minimum specifications:

• Microsoft® Windows® XP (SP 3 or later) Windows Vista® (SP 2 or later), or Windows 7
• 1 GHz processor (multicore or multiprocessor CPU recommended for HD)
• GPU with OpenGL and minimum 512mb graphics memory
• 30 MB hard-disk space for installation
• 1 GB RAM (2 GB RAM recommended for HD)

Answer: For your Vegas project, go to ’File’ - ‘Properties’. Once you are in ‘Properties’, choose the ‘Stereoscopic 3D’ mode that you desire and click ‘Okay’. Your Vegas project is now ready for 3D. Now, go to the ‘Video FX’ library, find ‘NewBlue Titler Pro’ and apply it to your desired event. Any movements you make through keyframing or animations with ‘Position Z’ will be in 3D.
