Problem: If you have installed the VideoFX MSPP transitions that ship with Sony Vegas Platinum 9.0, you may be seeing a watermark that won’t go away.

Answer: The product has not yet been registered. Normally, the watermarks should only appear after 30 days and only if the product has not been registered. However, there is a bug in the first release that sometimes doesn’t wait the 30 days and doesn’t tell you why.

Problem: NewBlue FX effects do not display a thumbnail image in Adobe Premiere Elements.

Answer: This is a known limitation of Adobe Premiere Elements. The effects that are packaged with Adobe Premiere Elements include pretty graphic icons for the effects. However, when external effects are loaded into Adobe Elements it simply displays an empty box. For transitions, it automatically generates the icon but not for effects.

Problem: After installing a NewBlue plugin, it shows up in the NLE, but it draws the NewBlueFX logo over the video frame.

Answer: You must activate the product to take it out of trial mode and remove the NewBlueFX logo. To activate, run the “Manage Activation” application that is installed along with the plugin. You can find this application from the Windows Start menu.
