Problem: I have purchased and installed several of your products. I want to activate my products, but the “Activate” button is not available.
Answer: Each time you purchase a NewBlueFX product, you will need to activate it using its activation manager and serial number. Therefore, if you open the activation manager for Video Essentials, you must use the serial number for this product and not, for example, Video Essentials II.
Be sure to use the specific key and activation program for each NewBlueFX product you own. To verify that you are using the correct activation manager, check the title bar. For example, in the screenshot below, you’ll find the activation program for Film Effects. In this case, only a Film Effects serial number will be accepted.

If you are using the proper serial number and activation manager, yet still cannot activate, make sure you have not made a typographical error. Common mistakes include swapping the number “0″ (zero) for the letter “O” or the number “1″ (one) for the letters “i” or “l” (L). To avoid these mistakes, copy the key from your e-mail and paste it into the activation program.
Problem: I like one particular effect but do not want to buy the entire package that includes that effect. Can I purchase that effect separately?
Answer: At this time, all NewBlueFX products are packaged as bundles of similar effects and transitions. We do so to provide you with a useful set of tools at the best price possible. (If we were to sell each plugin individually, the price per plugin would rise considerably. ) So, in short, the answer to this question is “no”.
Problem: I need to keyframe my effects over time but my NLE does not support keyframing with NewBlueFX.
Answer: Most NLE’s support keyframes, however some NLEs have limitations, including:
- Adobe Premiere Pro: In Adobe Premiere Pro, keyframing and presets are mutually exclusive. As such, we determined which to support on a plugin by plugin basis. For example, if the NewBlueFX plugin benefits more from presets then from keyframing, we chose presets. Please note that this problem does not exist in Adobe After Effects, so full keyframe support is available for all NewBlueFX within Adobe After Effects.
Problem: I am very interested in buying one of your products but want to try it first. Do you have a trial version I can use?
Answer: Yes we do. In fact, all of our downloads are both trials and the full release version. You simply activate the trial by entering your serial number.
