Meet Stephen Goldberg, one of the founding partners of MemoriesFX, a full service production facility specializing in corporate and personal video services. Recently, MemoriesFX was completing a project producing a corporate video for tradeshow and marketing use. The usual editor was consumed by another project so Goldberg, whose primary role is in sales and production (not editing), needed to step-in as the editor. This project needed to be completed and delivered to the client by the trade show date which was fast approaching.

Assuming the editor’s position, Goldberg knew he needed to investigate tools that would make his job easier. “I was already using NewBlueFX products for transitions and fast color correction,” says Goldberg, “as well as Video Essentials II, mostly for the chroma-key utility, which I found extremely useful,” he continues, “However, this video required some techniques I was not well versed in.”
“When NewBlueFX Video Essentials III came out, I immediately downloaded the trial version to evaluate the split screen feature (see examples 1 and 2), which I ended up using several times in my project as well as the picture-in-picture effect.” (see examples 3 and 4)

Goldberg says,
“Using the NewBlue Video Essentials II & III in this project saved me hours of work and many headaches. To achieve the same effects in [my NLE] works but it takes much longer and is more arduous. What is great about these tools is that you are given an almost infinite amount of creative options to drive great creativity into your projects.”

“In the end the client was thrilled as I was able to pack a lot of information into a short video.”
