Though AVCHD is today’s format of choice in tapeless camcorders, it’s so highly compressed that some NLEs can’t play it back in real-time, if at all. The AVCHD UpShift tool quickly and easily decompresses AVCHD files into a format manageable enough for the wimpiest NLEs to handle. We’ll show you how in just 5 easy steps:

Imagine that you’ve just captured an AVCHD file called airplane.mts from your camera and want import it into your NLE.

When you launch AVCHD UpShift, you’ll see the media bins on the left, which display the files to be converted. Click the "Add File" button and browse to airplane.mts file, then click "Open".
