We were so pleased to discover Ryan Graham’s review of Video Essentials in the April 1 issue of MicroFilmmaker magazine. He immediately grasped exactly what we’re trying to do when we say that NewBlueFX are competiviely-priced, aesthetically fresh and ridiculously easy to use. Take it away, Ryan:
I’ve been consistently impressed with the ease-of-use of NewBlueFX’s plugins; they’ve all contained useful and interesting presets, along with easy to understand, adjustable parameters. Recently I’ve found myself going to their effects over other manufacturers’ more expensive ones, not necessarily because the quality is better, but just because they’re more enjoyable to use and make work seem like fun instead of a chore.
Ryan Graham of MicroFilmmaker magazine had this to say in his recent review of NewBlue Video Essentials:
As MicroFilmmaker Magazine’s resident expert on all things NewBlueFX, I was excited to crack into another plugin package from this excellent video software company.
Thanks, Ryan!

David McKnight of EventDV magazine recently reviewed NewBlue Video Essentials. Here’s his conclusion:
Not everyone will make full use of all of these tools. That is the nature of a package like this. But, while there are no new whiz-bang effects or 3D exploding transitions in Video Essentials, this package truly turns necessary, complex video chores into child’s play. With Video Essentials, you can do in seconds what would normally take minutes or hours.
If you haven’t done much with color correction or other video filters in your NLE—or even if you have—do yourself a favor: Get Video Essentials and make better video now.
We couldn’t say it better ourselves, David!

POST Magazine’s Jonathan Moser had this to say in his recent review of NewBlueFX for AVX :
One of the reasons I became a video editor was because I like to play with toys, and among the coolest toys editors have are AVX filters. Recently I had a chance to test a new filters package from NewBlueFX.
This is NewBlue’s first foray into the Avid world (they are available for Adobe Premiere, Avid’s Liquid and Pinnacle, Sony Vegas and Grass Valley Edius), and if these filters are any indication, it won’t be their last.
Installation is straightforward. On the Media Composer, the installer dropped all modules into the effects palette and the Avid immediately found them. The help menus are unique in their use of animations to visually show you the effect each filter will have on your material. In fact, user friendliness in the form of help files and Website links is among the best I have seen.
