When I make a title from my Avid timeline, I don't see how I can make part of the title (a paragraph) appear at that exact time I want. I have an existing title, then park my play-head at the exact spot I have a music cue in the Avid timeline. I open into my NewBlue title, and the playhead is where I want it. So far, so good. Now, if I try to drag the beginning or end of the paragraph in my timeline, my playhead within newBlue moves as well. The playhead should NOT move since that is how I would know where the paragraph needs to start or end to make it appear or disappear at my music cue point. I can;'t seem to trim or splice out within NewBlue's timeline either. I guess I don't see what the point is of having the ability to edit parts of a title in and out without the ability to sync to the original Avid sequence play-head. I don't see how anyone could use NewBlue in a professional environment without this ability. Yet, I find no mention of how to do this in any documentation. Does this function exist somewhere and I'm missing it? Or is this software only for non-professionals?
